Five logotype proposals for Mostra, the annual student showcase at EsACT. Each one takes a different visual trend from 2022 as its starting point and applies it to the same subject — the university, its academic gown, the town it sits in. One two-colour system holds them together: teal against greyscale, in all five.
The project stops at divergence. Five directions were produced and none was chosen — there was no selection stage, no client, and no criteria written down for what would have made one of them right. That is a fair description of where I was in 2022, and it is the clearest gap between this piece and everything I have made since: I would now build the criteria before the options, not after.
A fifth proposal, a holographic mark on a projector plinth, is not shown here. Its lettering was set in a fan-made typeface derived from an existing film logotype, licensed for personal use only — the artwork needs resetting in a licensed face before it can be published.
Academic exercise. The moodboard reproduces past Mostra identities and reference imagery by other authors, used for study and credited in the source report. The fifth proposal is withheld pending a licensed typeface — see the note in the text. Not for commercial use.
